DAY 1:
Check in at the end of the day in the Valley of Conflent and in the picturesque thermal village of Vernet les Bains, welcome by your hosts at the Princess hotel ** (Logis de France, 2 chimneys). Welcome drink wil be offered and an introduction to your program for the week will be made.
Traditionnal dinner.
DAY 2:
After breakfast, departure for a visit of Villefranche de Conflent a medieval fortified city with its pleasant preserved castle walls, a roman church and its typical small streets.
Lunch in Villefranche.
In the afternoon, you will visit the caves of Canalettes offering superb sound and light effects on the stalactites.
Return to your hotel with a stop on the road to visit an other roman church and its famous Virgin at Corneilla de Conflent.
Dinner and Bingo Night at the hotel.
DAY 3:
Early departure after breakfast for a discovery tour of Collioure, a small Mediterranean port situated between its church and the royal castle. Ramble in the small colorful streets appreciated by many painters.
Tasting of the specialty of Collioure, the anchovies.
Lunch in Banyuls sur mer.
At 2 o'clock, you will share a very special moment with a wine cultivator / tourist guide who will bring you through the wineyards of Banyuls and Collioure and offering you to taste exceptional wines in the extraordinary context of the large wine caves of the Cellier des Templiers . (2 1/2 hours)
Back at the end of the day to Vernet les Bains and stop in Milles for a visit of oil mill (olives).
Dinner at your hotel.
DAY 4:
After breakfast, departure to visit the Abbey of St Michel de Cuxa a Pre-Roman abbey and its cloister made of pink marble from the twelfth century.
Discovery of a Catalan tradition: garnet jewelry in a creative workshop in Prades.
Lunch at the hotel
Relaxing afternoon in the natural warm baths of Vernet les Bains.
Back to the hotel and dinner
DAY 5:
After breakfast discover Perpignan the capital of the kings of Mallorca. In the morning, tour of the Old Town. (Gothic cathedral, remains of ramparts, Castillet (entrance included), the old trade market ...)
Lunch in a brasserie in the heart of the Catalan city.
Free time in the city for a little shopping and then in the afternoon, you will visit the magnificent center of Romans sculptures of Cabestany and taste the delicious traditionnal Rousquilles (biscuits) and observe their production.
Return to your hotel in Vernet les Bains and dinner.
DAY 6:
After breakfast, departure for a visit to the Prieuré of Serrabonne a remarkable roman monastery nestled in a wild and natural landscape with a beautiful pink marble podium of the 12th century.
Lunch in a farm of the valley.
Visit of the medieval village of Castelnou, classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France, with its narrow streets and ramparts.
Then visit the BYHRR wine caves (sweet bubble wine) and tasting. Discover the metal structures designed by Gustave Eiffel and its huge soaking tub.
Back at the hotel for dinner.
DAY 7:
Departure for your place of residence.
